Gemeinsame Erklärung

Udice, German U15 und U15 Canada, die insgesamt 40 führende Forschungsuniversitäten in Frankreich, Deutschland und Kanada vertreten, begrüßen den angekündigten Abschluss der Verhandlungen über die Assoziierung Kanadas zur zweiten Säule von Horizon Europe.

Diese Entscheidung ist ein entscheidender Schritt hin zu engeren wissenschaftlichen Beziehungen zwischen Europa und Kanada. Sie bietet beträchtliche neue Möglichkeiten zur Unterstützung der bereits bestehenden intensiven Zusammenarbeit zwischen europäischen und kanadischen Forschungseinrichtungen.

Die in Udice, German U15 und U15 Canada vertretenen französischen, deutschen und kanadischen forschungsintensiven Universitäten werden die mit der bevorstehenden Assoziierung verbundenen Chancen nutzen, um ihre Partnerschaften weiter zu vertiefen und auf andere europäische Akteure auszuweiten. Die langjährigen und engen Beziehungen zwischen ihnen bilden die Grundlage für innovative, wegweisende Forschungsprojekte zwischen Europa und Kanada.

Bereits im April 2023 unterzeichneten Udice und U15 Canada sowie im August 2023 German U15 und U15 Canada gemeinsame Erklärungen zur Stärkung der strategischen Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Partnern. Die europäische Dimension dieser engen Kooperationen wird durch die Unterstützung des weltweit größten Forschungsprogramms noch einmal gestärkt.

Udice, German U15 und U15 Canada, die bereits aktiv an der Umsetzung gemeinsamer wissenschaftlicher Schwerpunkte arbeiten, werden einen umfassenden Beitrag Europas und Kanadas zur Lösung der globalen Herausforderungen in den Bereichen Gesundheit, Umwelt, Energie und Technologie leisten.

Joint Statement

Udice, German U15 and U15 Canada, together representing 40 leading research universities across France, Germany and Canada, are delighted with the announcement of the completion of substantive negotiations on Canada's accession to the second pillar of Horizon Europe as an associated country.

This decision is a decisive step towards closer scientific ties between Europe and Canada. It will offer considerable new opportunities to support the already significant collaboration between European and Canadian research players.

The French, German and Canadian research universities represented in Udice, German U15 and U15 Canada are ready to seize these opportunities to deepen their partnerships and extend them to other European players. The long-standing and close relations between the three countries will serve as a positive basis for productive and fruitful projects between research universities in Europe and Canada.

Already present in the Joint Declaration signed by Udice and U15 Canada on the occasion of the France/Canada Joint Committee meeting in April 2023 and the Joint Declaration on Strategic Collaboration signed by the German U15 and U15 Canada during their bilateral summit in August 2023, this European dimension of the relationship between the two groups will be consolidated with the support of the world's largest research programme.

Already active in the implementation of shared scientific priorities, Udice, German U15 and U15 Canada wish to contribute fully to the responses that Europe and Canada will be able to provide to the major global challenges, be they health, environmental, energy or technological.

Udice, le German U15 et le U15 Canada, représentant ensemble les 40 principales universités de recherche de France, d'Allemagne et du Canada, se réjouissent de l’annonce de l'achèvement des négociations de fond sur l’adhésion du Canada au deuxième pilier d'Horizon Europe en tant que pays associé.

Cette décision constitue une étape décisive pour le rapprochement scientifique entre l’Europe et le Canada. Elle offrira de nouvelles opportunités considérables pour soutenir les collaborations déjà importantes entre acteurs de la recherche européens et canadiens.

Les universités de recherche françaises, allemandes et canadiennes représentées au sein d’Udice, le German U15 et du U15 Canada sont prêtes à se saisir de ses opportunités pour approfondir leurs partenariats et les élargir à d’autres acteurs européens. Les relations anciennes et étroites entre les trois pays serviront comme base pour des projets productifs et fructueux entre les universités de recherche de l'Europe et le Canada.

Déjà présente dans la Déclaration conjointe signée par Udice et le U15 Canada à l’occasion du Comité mixte France / Canada d’avril 2023 et la Déclaration conjointe sur la collaboration stratégique signée par le German U15 et le U15 Canada lors de leur sommet bilatéral en août 2023, cette dimension européenne de la relation entre les deux groupes pourra se voir consolider avec l’appui du plus grand programme de recherche au monde.

Déjà actifs dans la mise en œuvre des priorités scientifiques communes, les universités Udice, le German U15 et U15 Canada souhaitent contribuer pleinement aux réponses que l’Europe et le Canada pourront apporter aux grands enjeux mondiaux, qu’ils soient sanitaires, environnementaux, énergétiques ou technologiques.
